Groups/weekends at the Albatross

Weekends in Newcastle are simply for football and partying. The Albatross is a safe, secure hostel where only guests booked in advance will enter the premises at all times. We are staffed 24hrs and have night security working throughout the weekend. All guests who stay with us are made fully aware that the hostel is not a party hostel, however, anyone who visits Newcastle over a weekend must be fully aware that this happy city is usually rocking from Friday afternoon until the hangover kicks in on Sunday morning!

Please be sure to understand we will remain safe, secure and aim to bring the weekend to a close. The hostel is your home for the weekend and the house is as good as the guests who arrive. Groups and single travellers do not have dorms together. All guests in mixed dorms are fully aware that is what they have booked and we can not stress enough for everyone to clearly understand what a mixed dormitory is. All guests must provide photographic ID to stay here.

Weekends can and do get noisy. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet time then weekends are not the time to visit Newcastle!

GROUPS: Each group member will pay £25.00 which is retained until check out. All groups must follow our ‘code of conduct’. Upon check in they will be given an explanation of why we retain the bond.  No groups are exempt from paying the bond.

Our house has a very strict policy relating to STAFF ABUSE – WE DON’T TOLERATE IT! We are supported by Northumbria Police. Anyone using foul/abusive language and intimidating/aggressive or threatening behaviour will be removed from the hostel within minutes of this occuring. CCTV is in operation throughout the building for the safety of staff and guests.
