On a weekend travellers regularly ask us at reception what carnival is being celebrated in the city, to which we reply that there is no carnival – it’s just another typical weekend in Newcastle.
For all of you that aren’t in the know Newcastle’s Nightlife is legendary and is regularly beating of competition from cities all across Europe to be voted number 1 city for partying.
The compact city centre has a vast array of bars and clubs with enough diversity to cater to everyone’s personal taste. The concentration of these establishments allows you to easily move around differing venues and sample different scenes.
The ‘Bigg Market‘ and ‘The Gate‘ are hugely popular at weekends with people celebrating Birthdays and Stag/Hen Party’s whilst the bars in and around ‘Central Station‘ tend to have a more laid back vibe and are popular with travellers and those looking for a less in your face experience.
The ‘Diamond Strip‘ is made up of various bars and clubs and is definitely a place where you dress to impress, to see and be seen. For a more sophisticated feel head to Newcastle’s ‘Quayside‘ and enjoy the stunning settings.
The ‘Haymarket‘ area of town is popular with students and those who like their Rock music with a number of venues here regularly hosting live bands.
