The Albatross is the largest seabird in the world with a wing span reaching 3m. With this massive wing span the Albatross can cover distances of up to 10,000km within 10-20 days.

For thousands of years man has dreamed of flying like a bird and discovering the world. Today, people from all over the world come to explore the North East of England. The Albatross - Backpackers In! is a destination for people to rest after travelling long distances - just like the Albatross!

Save the Albatrosses

The Albatross is facing extinction unless serious action is taken.

100,000 Albatrosses die each year on fishing hooks. They are being killed in such vast numbers that they can't breed fast enough to keep up. This is putting them in real danger of extinction.
